So gut wie alle öffentlichen Institutionen und größeren Verbände im indischen Bundesstaat Manipur und die führenden Regierungsmitglieder haben unzählige Kondolenzschreiben geschickt und Schweigeminuten eingelegt, um ihren tiefen Respekt für das Leben und Schaffen von Seiner Heiligkeit Bhakti Svarupa Damodar Goswami zu zeigen. Täglich kommen immer neue Beileidsschreiben und Solidaritätsbekundungen. Der ranghöchste Minister Manipurs brachte in seinem Brief seine tiefe Bestürzung und Trauer zum Ausdruck und würdigte den unermüdlichen Einsatz Bhakti Svarupa Damodar Goswamis für Frieden, gesellschaftsübergreifende Einheit und globale Brüderlichkeit. Er bezeichnete iohn als hervorragende und führende spirituelle Persönlicheit und bedeutenden Gelehrten. Ein weiteres Regierungsmitglied bezeichnete seinen Tod als unersetzlichen Verlust. Mit wird erst jetzt deutlich, wie bekannt und unglaublich populär Iskcons religiöses Oberhaupt im indischen Bundesstaat Manipur gewesen sein muss. Er scheint das ganze Volk in Trauer um ihn zu vereinigen.
Es scheint erstaunlicherweise oft diejenigen zu treffen, die sich in dieser Welt am meisten für Frieden einsetzen, wie Gandhi und Martin Luther King. Auch Bhakti Svarup Damodar Gosvami war für seine sanfte, gütige Art bekannt und dafür, dass er sich unermüdlich für den interreligiösen Dialog und den Frieden einsetzte. Bekannt sind die Fotos, auf denen er immer wieder bei Treffen mit dem Dalai Lama, Mutter Theresa, dem Papst und vielen anderen Vertretern anderer Religionen abgebildet ist. Bei einem Treffen mit dem Papst und anderen religiösen Größen erreichte er sogar einmal durch seinen Sanftmut, das zum gemeinsamen Essen nur vegetarisches Essen serviert wurde, als Zeichen der Gewaltlosigkeit.

Imphal, October 04: With a deep sense of shock over the loss of one of the most illustrious sons of Manipur, condolences continued to pour in over the sad and sudden demise of His Holiness Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Maharaj even as last rites of the internationally renowned spiritual leader was performed at Radhakund of Vrindavan according to his last wish today afternoon.
Expressing his condolence after three days of the demise of Swami, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in a condolence message addressed to ISKCON Mani Mandir president Ajit Das said 'I am shocked to hear the sudden demise of Shri Guru Maharaj Bhaktiswarup Damodar Swamiji at Kolkata'.
Although the well wishers and others from Manipur tried their best to bring Swamiji to Imphal for the last darshan, we could not do so due to various factors beyond our control, Ibobi said, adding that on his demise we lost forever one of the eminent scholar, a great spiritual leader, who stood for peace, communal harmony and world brotherhood.
The Chief Minister also prayed for Swami's soul to rest in peace.
Although the last samadhi of Swamiji had been performed at Shridham Radhakunda at Vrindavan this afternoon where Bhaktas coming from all over the world pay their last respect to their spiritual Guru, many ISKCON Devotees and well-wishers including the students of Bhaktivedanta Institute Mission Higher Secondary School also offered their Pushpajali to the Guruji during a religious function held at Mani Mandir of ISKCON here today.

The news of the death of ISKCON International Director Swami Damodara at Kolkata early morning today has plunged the peace loving people of Manipur in deep sorrow and have described it as a great loss not only for ISKCON but also for the entire humanity.
In his condolence message, Governor of Manipur Dr SS Sidhu said Damodara was an epitome of peace, love, friendship, forgiveness and understanding who stood by these principal till his last.
“Manipur is a pluralistic society and his call for peace and understanding was at the most appropriate time for the State, which is now in turmoil.
But it seems that the Supreme Being desires him to be at His side and the void left by his demise will be difficult to fill”, Dr Sidhu said, while sharing the grief and sorrow of all his near and dear ones.
Describing the death of one of the most illustrious sons of Manipur who attained international fame in the realm of humanism, Chairman of Bharat Sevak Samaj, Manipur State Branch H Kangjamba Singh said his death is an irreparable loss for the entire humanity.
Despite being a man of science, Damodara accepted the calling of Shri Krishna and devoted his entire life towards the cause of humanity, he added.
Mourning over the death of the spiritual leader, members of Manipur Peace Committee, SMMM, NYP and NYO prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed soul in its heavenly abode during a condolence meeting held at Shanti Bhavan here today.
A condolence meeting was also held at the office of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad to condole the death of Swami today.
Apart from acknowledging the contribution made by Swami for humanity during his lifetime, the meeting also observed a two minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Aggrieved at the sudden and sad demise of Swami, members of Kasturba Gandhi Kendra, Imphal observed a one minute silence in respect of the departed soul and prayed to God for the peace of the soul during a condolence meeting held at the Kendra today with eminent scholar and retired Principal of LMS Law College, Imphal RK Jhalajit Singh in the chair.
A condolence meeting was also reportedly held at the Babupara official residence of Corporation and Veterinary Minister W Leima Devi with ex-MP W Angou Singh in the chair .
A two minute silence was also observed to show respect to the departed soul and the mourners present prayed to God for the peaceful repose of the soul in its heavenly abode.
Members of Patsoi East Development Committee have also expressed their sorrow and grief over the death of Bhaktiswarup Damodara Swami Maharaj.

mphal, October 03: People of Manipur have not been able to come to term with the loss of one of the greatest sons of the soil in the charismatic persona of Governing Body Commissioner of ISKCON and International Director His Holiness Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami Srila Sripada who passed away early morning yesterday.
Cutting across religious, social, cultural and political affiliation heartfelt condolences have been expressed by various organisations and individuals.
United Religious Initiative, Manipur Co-operation Circle has expressed its deep sense of shock and sorrow at the sudden and unexpected demise of His Holiness Bhaktiswarupa Damodara Swami Sripad Maharaj alias Dr TD Singh, who was also its president during a condolence meeting held at its Paona Bazar Imphal office today.
Condoling the death of the internationally renowned ISKCON leader, State Baha'i Council of the Baha'is of Manipur has described his demise as a great loss for humanity.
Praying for the peaceful repose of the departed noble soul and sharing in grief of the bereaved devotees, the Council observed that exemplary deeds of the Swami would remain as a source of inspiration for all foreever.
Zeliangrong Rachapriak Phom (Zeliangrong religious council) of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland has also condoled the death of Swami saying it is an irreparable loss for all.

Imphal, October 05: Conveying deep shock and sorrow at the sudden demise of Bhakti Swarupa Damodara Swami alias Dr TD Singh on October 2 at his Kolkata ashram, the Senior Citizens For Society has condoled and mourned his said demise while praying for eternal rest of the departed soul.
In a condolence message, the Society described the late religious leader as a noble son of Manipur who worked tirelessly for peace and communal harmony in today's trouble torn world.
The BJP Manipur Pradesh during a condolence meeting recalled the relentless and outstanding efforts of the late Swami towards peace and harmony in the world.
The message read that the demise of Swami Damodara was an irreparable loss to all the peace loving people across the globe.
Likewise, the Educated and Self Employed Women's Social Service Association, Wangkhei has also condoled the sad demise of the ISKCON director.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by the All Manipur Women's Social Reformation and Development Samaj has condoled the sudden demise of Swami Damodara and Thokchom Phalendra, editor of Toknga Daily.
The Samaj shared the grief and pain of the respective family members, devotees of ISKCON and the journalist fraternity of Manipur.
